The Child Safeguarding Policy
We have developed our own Safeguarding System to foster a culture that prioritizes the well-being, happiness, and future opportunities for all the children and teen –agers we meet in our daily work. Our aim is to ensure that this culture of care and attention extends beyond the borders of our services and contributes to the promotion of educational, nurturing, and respectful communities.
We call on our members, collaborators, and partners to actively engage in the commitment to protect and respect children and teen-agers
FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES OF THE PROTECTION SYSTEM
- Everyone – girls, boys, and adolescents – has an equal right to protection and the promotion of their well-being, regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, social background, and their level of ability or disability.
- All actions in the field of child protection must be undertaken in their best interest.
- Everyone has a responsibility to protect children and adolescents. They can also play a role in contributing to their protection and that of others, even though the ultimate responsibility for protection lies with adults.
- The measures implemented to ensure the protection of childhood and adolescence must be inclusive and non-discriminatory, recognizing that some children and adolescents may be more at risk of abuse.
- A climate of transparency and openness is essential to ensure the protection of minors. Abuse and mistreatment are more likely to occur when staff, volunteers, partners, girls, boys, girls, and boys, families, and community members feel unable to express their concerns.
- All concerns regarding the safety and protection of a minor must be carefully considered.
- No single organization can protect minors by working alone, so it is necessary to work and collaborate with other organizations, local agencies responsible for the protection of childhood and adolescence.
- In the event that a person decides to report suspected abuse or mistreatment of a minor, confidentiality and privacy must be ensured throughout the case management process.
- All actions in the field of child protection must be carried out in accordance with the national and international legislative framework.
