Participation
We believe in the value of participation, social cohesion, and community ties.
We believe it is important to build opportunities for generative welfare, capable of regenerating already available resources, making people who receive help responsible, to increase the effectiveness of social policy interventions for the benefit of the entire community.
We are convinced that every subject living in the territory, whether public, private, or a private citizen, is a precious resource and, as such, must be valued so that everyone, based on their skills, availability, and resources, can consciously participate and take care of the “common good.”
Local Network
For us, building a local network primarily expresses the sharing of responsibility towards the people who inhabit it. For this reason, we commit to building networks with Public Administrations, Third Sector organizations, associations, informal citizen groups, schools, and companies with the common goal of creating shared value and fostering the active participation of everyone in their territory.
Staff Training
We pay constant attention to staff training, combining the three aspects of competence: knowledge, know-how, and soft skills (saper essere).
Methodology
We use an interactive methodology, which includes, in addition to frontal theoretical sessions, moments of greater participant involvement, encouraging participation and experimentation through group work, role-playing, and analysis of concrete situations.
Training is therefore an opportunity to value and strengthen skills and support the development of new knowledge in a constant dimension of comparison with others.
The training pathways involve all roles, providing the acquisition of knowledge that guarantees a varied yet targeted education, capable of dealing with the transformations in work and contemporary society.
Alongside legally required training, we offer training paths related to pedagogical and educational, social, organizational, and management topics.
Each year, based on the internal competency assessment we conduct through a talent pathway, we plan a training program in response to emerging training needs.
Pedagogical Supervision
We have developed and are testing a model of pedagogical supervision to recognize and improve the professionalism of our female and male workers, innovate methodology, and constantly keep the pedagogical aspect at the center of our services.
Pedagogical supervision offers working groups a space to deconstruct, recompose, and manage unexpected events that occur, by exploring different possibilities and then reassembling them.
This is a learning context capable of offering spaces for generative thinking, not necessarily seeking immediate solutions , which are reserved in our Early Childhood, Minors and Families, and Environment and Culture areas to support working groups and operators.
The aim is to learn to sit with questions and reflection, without seeking immediate and reassuring solutions.
NEVER ALONE: Support pathway for situations of illness, grief, and serious events
Alongside the safeguarding system, we have developed a support pathway for situations of illness, grief, and serious events involving the families using our services and the workers of Koinè.
Life sometimes presents painful situations and forces people to come to terms with pain and to process a loss, not necessarily related to the death of a family member or a loved one, but understood in a broader sense, as loss (termination of pregnancy, job loss, separation, loss of health… etc.).
It is a painful process that, when experienced with the support, emotional closeness, and concrete assistance of those nearby, can be more manageable.
This support pathway is therefore born with the following objectives:
- To be a source of “emotional closeness” as workers and as a cooperative to families and children experiencing a painful loss;
- To offer concrete support to families by providing information and guiding them towards qualified and competent structures and services;
- To assist and support the cooperative’s workers who are involved in such painful situations by offering them emotional support, as well as tools to be a genuine resource.
To meet these objectives, we have developed Guidelines, specifically prepared for accompanying families with an empathetic and conscious approach.
A Mapping of the multiple structures available in Milan and its surroundings that can help families in times of need (health, social, reception facilities, etc.) has also been created and is continuously updated.
