In line with Koinè’s policy of transparency and social reporting (it has been publishing a social balance sheet for over twenty years) , the cooperative has decided to introduce a system for measuring service performance.
This choice is in line with the Third Sector reform (Law no. 106/2016) , which focuses on the social impact assessment of activities carried out by Third Sector entities. Social impact assessment (Article 7, paragraph 3) is defined as: the qualitative and quantitative assessment, in the short, medium, and long term, of the effects of the activities carried out on the reference community with respect to the identified objective.
The objective of social impact measurement is to communicate and convey the social, environmental, cultural, and economic change generated by the projects and services managed by Koinè to all interested parties , and to report the results of Koinè’s commitment towards improving the social conditions of the territories and contexts in which it operates and the communities with which it collaborates.
The service impact assessment system is based, as indicated by theoretical and regulatory references, on the principles of intentionality, relevance, reliability, measurability, comparability, transparency, and communication.
To identify the change generated by Koinè on the different stakeholders, an approach based on the theory of change and the value chain has been adopted.
The value chain is a useful tool for mapping the process of change generated by an organization, through the creation of a cause-effect relationship between inputs, activities, outputs, outcomes, and impact.
The first impact assessment system for Koinè’s nursery schools is currently being implemented, with the goal of extending it to all managed services in the coming years.
