Social Desk

The Social Desk is a first-level service aimed at information, reception, listening, and evaluation of social need, followed by the definition of an appropriate and coherent care pathway. The services we manage are oriented towards strengthening personal and/or family autonomies, aimed at reducing the reliance on purely assistance interventions and promoting subjective resources as leverage to exit situations of difficulty and distress. The methodological framework of the services is essentially based on “community organization,” understood as the permanent development and valorization of the family and local networks of the user or groups of users with similar needs. “Community work” is therefore a necessary condition in the management of the “Social Service” as a tool capable of fostering the construction of a conscious and supportive society, able to address the individual and/or social problems that manifest within it, while simultaneously identifying the most appropriate responses to the expressed needs.

The service is carried out through:

  • social secretariat: reception and assessment of need.
  • analysis and study of individual problems connected to the manifestation of need
  • individualized projects
  • eventual referral to other social services, socio-health services, job search services, housing search services, and leisure management services.

We currently manage the service in the Municipalities of Cantù and Pioltello.

Child protection

The Child Protection Service is responsible for managing cases involving families with minors who are under the jurisdiction of the Judicial Authority. For years, we have supported local municipal administrations in the management and delivery of child safeguarding services.

Our intervention strategies are rooted in a preventive approach. Based on this principle, our methodological framework is designed to guide professionals toward interdisciplinarity and the mutual exchange of information and expertise. This model identifies co-design (collaborative planning) as a fundamental pillar, ensuring that the work of our practitioners is constantly oriented toward a holistic overview of the specific social context.

Our methodological focus aims to develop individualized and flexible intervention plans—projects that are co-constructed and continuously refined by an integrated multidisciplinary team. We propose a multidimensional project-based approach centered on permanent connection with all involved stakeholders (the child’s and family’s environment, the Municipality, the Juvenile Court, schools, specialist services, and the voluntary sector).

Under the mandate of the Judicial Authority, the service carries out the following interventions:

  • Psycho-social assessments and investigations.
  • Observations at home, within school environments, or in other relevant contexts.
  • Structuring diagnostic and/or therapeutic pathways.
  • Developing Individualized Educational Plans (IEPs).
  • Establishing probation programs (messa alla prova) for juvenile offenders.
  • Facilitating networking between institutional services and informal local resources.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Periodic reporting on service progress and outcomes.

We currently manage these services in the Municipalities of Inzago, Cesano Boscone (and the Corsico social district), Gaggiano and associated municipalities, the Sesto Calende district, and the Municipality of Brugherio.
