Our environmental Summer Centers are designed with a focus on “zero waste,” where children and families are made aware of the issue and actively work to reduce the amount of waste produced. Each child brings a kit consisting of a water bottle, cup, cutlery, plate, and placemat for consuming the meal. In our programming, we prioritize games and activities with a low environmental impact that do not involve the production of waste materials.

We design, organize, and manage green weeks during the summer, Christmas, and Easter periods. The week takes place in a protected and familiar place, such as the park area and its facilities. This experience allows them to get to know their territory, leaving an emotional mark that generates an affective bond. All this educates for respect of the environment.

The organization of the service and the activities are designed based on a methodology that considers: the children’s age groups, the relationship with families, and the territorial context. The relationships between adults are based on mutual trust, transparency, and discussion, an indispensable premise for the well-being of children and teenagers. The protagonists participate in the planning of the day, the sharing of rules, and adopt daily practices. For the youngest, the rhythm of the day is precise, but simultaneously flexible to meet the needs of each individual. Identifying the time division allows them to acquire security and gradually integrate into community life, developing their sense of belonging. The various activities (outdoor games, workshops, park cleaning, small maintenance work, treasure hunts…) are carried out in a serene and peaceful atmosphere and favor the growth of physical, creative, expressive, and sensory potential. Children and teenagers grow up together, discovering the value of friendship, having fun, gaining confidence in themselves and others, and learning to accept the diversity of those around them. The guiding theme is the common thread used for the setup of the space and for the activities.

Care, discovery, togetherness, creativity, fun are the keywords of the summer centers organized by Koinè for families and for companies that want to offer a welfare opportunity to their employees.

Care

As care directed at the type of experiences proposed, as observational skills, sensitivity, and specific training of educators, as attention to times and spaces, to relationships, to attentive and participatory listening, to looking at the needs and requirements that emerge from individuals and the group.

Discovery

As the reconstruction of a relationship between humans and the environment in which they live, aimed at increasing the awareness of children and teenagers regarding their daily behaviors and the valorization of small possible changes from a perspective of greater sustainability.

Togetherness

As the importance of the group and the other, as constant attention to tools for involving and making children and their families protagonists. Children and teenagers grow up together, discovering the value of friendship, having fun, gaining confidence in themselves and others, and learning to accept the diversity of those around them.

Creativity

As attention to the presentation of unstructured materials, such as natural elements collected in the garden or park or recycled products that do not have a predefined use, they contribute to developing a flexible and creative mind, capable of being astonished and amazed. Furthermore, the workshop proposals allow children to learn through doing: the process is important rather than the product, so that the experience of doing becomes intrinsically significant and an opportunity for growth.

Fun

As attention to lightness. The days in our summer camps are spent among laughter and games; the games have both a recreational and a socializing purpose.

Corporate Welfare

Does your company want to support its employees with children during school closure periods? The corporate summer camp is included in the corporate welfare program for employees and their families, designed as a service that aims to promote the reconciliation of work time with family time for working parents and give children and teenagers an educational experience that accompanies and stimulates them in socialization, discovery, and is a time of well-being.
